ACTINIC KERATOSIS

Also known as solar keratosis, is a common precancerous skin condition that is caused by long term exposure to sunlight. This condition is characterized by small, scaly patches or bumps that might be pink, red, or brown in color.

SYMPTOMS

Rough, scaly patches on the skin, raised bumps or lesions, pink, red, or brown discoloration, itching or burning sensation in affected areas, bleeding or crusting over in affected area.

TREATMENT

Your provider at Skin Care Specialists will plan a customized treatment plan for you that may include topical medications to be applied topically to destroy abnormal skin cells, cryotherapy to freeze and destroy affected cells, excisions to remove the abnormal, or whichever therapy is best suited for your specific needs.
