DERMATITIS
A medical condition characterized by inflammation of the skin caused by external irritants or an allergic reaction leading to symptoms such as redness, itching, swelling, and/or flaky skin. Common types of this diagnosis include atopic, contact, stasis, and seborrheic dermatitis.
SYMPTOMS
Dry, itchy skin that can be scaly, redness and inflammation or having patches of skin that are red, swollen and inflamed. Rashes that are raised, oozing, and/or crusted over, blisters that are small and fluid-filled that may burst and crust over. Thicken, crack, and or/ rough skin.
TREATMENT
Your provider at Skin Care Specialists will plan a customized treatment plan for you that may include a combination of topical creams, oral medications, keeping the skin moisturized, and lifestyle changes to help avoid triggers and flare-ups and manage the severity of dermatitis symptoms.
