LIPOMA

A lipoma is a benign growth of fatty tissue that usually develops just below the skin's surface. Lipomas can occur anywhere on the body, but are most commonly found on the neck, shoulders, back, and arms.

SYMPTOMS

Soft, round or oval-shaped lumps that feel rubbery or doughy to the touch. Lumps that are typically painless, although they may become tender if they press on nearby nerves or tissues. Lumps that may be small or grow to be several inches in diameter. Lumps that move easily under the skin when touched or pressed.

TREATMENT

Some of these treatments may include surgical removal, which involves making a small incision in the skin and removing the lipoma and any surrounding tissue, Steroid injections, which can help to shrink the size of the lipoma, Observation, which involves monitoring the growth of the lipoma over time to ensure that it does not become cancerous or cause any other health problems.
